Mingjian Zhang is an information technology instructor in the DREAM department with a bachelor's degree in digital media from the University of Rochester and a master's degree in learning science and technology from the University of Pennsylvania. He has plenty of passion and resources for digital media, and he is responsible for incubating a wide range of narrative projects based on digital media technology.
Responsible for incubating various narrative projects based on digital media technologies and driving innovation in education technology. He utilizes skills such as Unity development, Python/SQL data processing, HoloLens2 development, Apple eco-development, digital media, etc. to provide students with innovative learning experiences in conjunction with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) theme. Allow more students to visualize their vague interest in the DREAM field into a digital media project with social value.
With plenty of passion and resources for digital media, his work and research areas include but are not limited to: computational thinking, computer science education, artificial intelligence literacy, big data analytics, Unity development, HoloLens2 mixed reality development, project-based learning methods, and more. He is committed to applying these technologies in education to create more interactive and innovative learning environments.
This semester he created an onboarding course at High School, a 2D pixel-based platform jumping game called Nature's Fury. He has been gaming since high school days, from simple bricklaying to complex mixed-reality headset rehabilitation games for stroke patients. His love of gaming has never changed. Now he is waving the gaming flag vigorously in schools, preaching tirelessly to students who are not only interested in gaming but also brave enough to explore it.
