Chuck

Head of Counselling Center

Chuck graduated with a Bachelor's in Communication Engineering from the Beijing Institute of Technology and the Australian National University. Before joining Moonshot, he worked for the international youth organization AIESEC for 7 years, engaging in youth development work in Australia, China, India, and the Netherlands. In addition to his full-time role at Moonshot, Chuck is currently pursuing an online graduate program at Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Coordinating and managing psychological work in the high school department, serving as the grade head of the class of 2026, being an expert in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), supporting the implementation of advisory across all grades, and integrating SEL elements into daily instruction. He also teaches an elective course, "Adolescent Psychology," leading learners to explore the unique transformations and special contexts of adolescence.

He specializes in Social and Emotional Learning, self-awareness, career exploration, mental health, inclusive and special education, adolescent psychology, mentorship, and coaching.

Is "adolescent" a made-up term? If not, what significant value does it have for human development?

Adolescent Psychology is a high school elective course that explores the psychological changes that occur during the adolescent period, which is considered to be one of the most challenging and transformative phases of human development. The course will be designed to provide learners with an in-depth understanding of the developmental processes that shape adolescent behavior, emotions, and cognition. Through a variety of interactive activities, discussions, and readings, learners will explore topics such as identity development, peer relationships, family dynamics, brain development, emotional regulation, and the impact of culture and social media on adolescent development. This course is suitable for learners who are going to apply for the art and incubator track in the next academic year or who are currently enrolled in art and incubators.

Adolescent Intervention

Disciplines/Subjects: Pyschology Key Themes: Adolescent, Well-being, peer support Welcome to the revitalization of our school's counseling center, a project spearheaded by a team of learners aimed at transforming an underutilized space into a vibrant hub for student well-being. The project goal is to create an inviting environment that encourages more frequent use by understanding and addressing the needs of our high school peers. Through a comprehensive process that includes needs assessment, design, implementation, promotion, and evaluation, the team will introduce interactive projects, educational posters, relevant books, and stress-relief equipment to make the counseling center a place where learners feel comfortable seeking support and spending time. This initiative not only promises to enhance the physical space but also to foster a sense of community and belonging among our learners, ultimately contributing to their overall mental health and academic success.
